Just as you have to spend money to make money you will have to spend time to save time. Designing your future involves a concerted, planned approach to yourself and your business. Time for your future will have to compete with all those other things that you could be doing and your future will lose unless you:
commit to the process
allocate the time you need (at least 2 hours per week)
and, use that time effectively when it arrives
The best way to achieve this is to treat yourself as a customer. Book Growth Plan time into your diary, just as a customer would and use all the tricks you use to properly service your clients, to service yourself:
Don’t allow the Growth Plan time to be given to anyone or anything else
Don’t allow calls to be put through during Growth Plan time
Leave meetings that run over time if they will encroach on your Growth Plan time
Focus your attention fully on the task at hand and don’t procrastinate
At the end of the Growth Plan time decide what you will do in the next Growth Plan time and be clear on the first small task – write it down.
Practice your good service skills on yourself.
DO IT NOW
Your development is the best client you will ever have.
